Default Pressure testing tanks - New Idea

Hey guys, I just successfully pressure tested my second tank on the RV-7.

Glad to have those behind me ! !

But I wanted to share an idea to seal up the fuel caps for testing. The instructions say to use duct tape over the top, but I used a balloon over the back of the cap. You can see pics here on my log of how it looks, but basically cut the mouth piece off the balloon and slip the cap into it.

This might have been thought of before, but is a pretty simple way to ensure no leaks through the cap while testing. Worked for my upgrade caps, and would probably work for all caps just the same.

Thanks.. On to the Top Skins..

Just place "Saran wrap" over the hole, install the cap and it seals. Been doing it this way for over 30 years.

I tried Saran wrap, but the newer caps cut into it because of the locking mechanism on the back. The balloon was simple and held up against the lock on the back. Just use what ever works.. ;-)

Thx
