bleed valve
I was just looking at my bleet valve on my brakes. I just want to verify what the correct process is to open the valve in order to pump brake fluid up into them.
The valve seems to have two pieces, an outer piece that threads into the brake caliper, and an inner piece that threads into the outer piece (see photo below). The inner piece has a small hole in the middle. I'm guessing that loosening the inner piece opens the valve, allowing fluid to pass through the small hole? Is this correct?

Bleed Screw
How far do you open the bleed screw? If you open it up fully will it fall out or will it hit a stop, thus preventing any air leaks during the bleeding process?

You only need to open it about 1/4 turn.

...if you want to see how the bleed valve works, just take one out or look at one at the auto parts store...it's the simplest device on your car/airplane,
Best,
