Default Andair question

I just got an Andair air/oil separator. If I don't intend to use the condensation trap do I just plug that connection and use it for draining. Thanks

You can just plug it, and drain every X amount of hours. If thats the route you choose to go I'd be interested in how much oil you collect.

I have the same set up on our -10 but I elected to run the drain down to the oil return line off #6 cyl. The belly has been completely dry, and oil consumption is less than 1/2 quart so far (10.5 hrs).

Default Andair Drain

I ran mine back to the crankcase via an unused fitting in the accessory housing. Yes...funky slime is recycled directly back into my engine. Totally dry belly!!
Flame suit zipped up tight.....

Regards,
Chris

Thanks guys. I think I'll just plug it up at first to see what's collected. I post what I find. Eventually when I finish anyhow.

Default I have a home made air oil separator

and I collect the oil side in a small clear container below. I get about an ounce every five hours. Just watch out for low g maneuvers (testing, aero, etc.) The engine will fill up my vial on one flight easy.
