Default "I" Lug on Starter Solenoid

Anyone know what, if anything, attaches to the "I" position on the starter solenoid.

I have a ACS keyed ignition switch with starter position.

Thanks!

For some PM starters that have a built in solenoid, you can use that terminal in this manner:

Van's statement is that this will prevent the starter from staying engaged too long after the starter switch is released.

Sounds like you have an old automotive solenoid----the "I" post was to feed full battery voltage to the ignition coil during starting, and bypass the drop down resistor.

You can also use it to power a starter annunciator light.
