Default Slow-On & Slow-Off lights

Does anyone know of a circuit (or kit, or product) that you can put inline with your interior lights that will give them a slow-on and slow-off behavior.

Meaning that they start softer and ramp up to full bright. Same thing for shutting down. Most of our automobiles behave this way now too.

Vertical Power can do it with their product, but I'd like to do it on my own.

I could find many many ways to use it.

If you know of one, let me know. I'm going to shoot a message to Jim Weir and see if he'll put a project into a future kitplanes issue with a simple circuit that we can make on a 1" x 1" pc board for $3.

Thanks,
Phil

What kind of interior lights are these? (And what max current requirements?)

I'm thinking a simple circuit that does fade-in/fade-out, plus an optional dimmer input to adjust the "high" brightness should be pretty simple.

Hey Rick,

I agree it should be pretty simple. I'm thinking of LED interior lights. I'm also thinking of softening LED landing lights. I like the effect of softer wig-wag's much more than a hard flash-flash.... It's creates a swinging effect similar to the larger jets.
