Question Safety wire

What size of safety wire is most commonly used on homebuilt aircraft??? Can I get by with buying just one size or do I need several sizes??? Also, do the instructions tell me where to use safety wire or is this just up to my determination???

Thanks

.032" is the most common size a few places may need the smaller size .020"(?) (my CS prop governor) or larger .042"(?) for my prop studs.
