Default Tig welding

I am practicing my tig welding for an exhaust that I am building and need some .040 ss rod . The welding shop only sells it in 10 lb box for $ 175 . Will041 saftey wire work for welding 304 .049 thick tube ???

How about a small roll for a wire feeder? They come in one or two pounds for spool guns, and are about $20.

I've used 1/16 308 Stainless tig rod to weld mufflers. You might check with a small welding shop or tool and die shop. I bet they would give you enough to do the job, I know I would if you were close.

thanks for the input . I just found 1 lb lots of 308 rod on Aircraft Spruce web site
