Garmin 696 knob not working

Hello Folks,

The knob rotate function has ceased to function. The pushbutton and joystick functions still work, but the rotate function quit working yesterday.

Is there a trick or tip to try. I can send it back to Garmin, but would hate to pay all that shipping if there's a hard reset that might fix it.
