Default Sensenich Spinner to Prop Clearance

I purchased a Sensenich Metal Spinner to go with the Sensenich prop on my RV-8A. I paid to have the spinner polished and it looks great.
Now the problem:
I mounted the prop with no problems. When I performed a test fit of the spinner it is almost touching the prop in a couple of areas.

How much clearance should I have between the spinner cut outs and the prop? Is it ok to cut out some of the metal spinner to get more clearance or should I just leave it alone?
Has anyone else ran into this problem? I thought that I was going to save myself a bunch of time by forking over $450.00 to Sensenich for the spinner.
Now it doesn't seem to be such a great idea. They bill it as a "plug & play" item. I don't believe that it is at this point.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
