Default Fuel line connection

Hi Listers

I am concerned about the proximity of the exhaust pipe (4 into 2 crossover, no flexible joint) to the fuel line connector of the carburettor on my RV6 (see photo).

The engine is an 0-360 A1A with a Facet model MA-4-5 carb, and the fitting that came with the engine sticks out quite a bit, only leaving about 1/4" of clearance. No room for a heat shield. Is this going to be a problem re heat affecting the fuel/fuel line (fuel vapour etc)? Anyone know of a suitable low profile connector? Other solutions??

As allways, all suggestions gratefully recieved.

Default YEP!

I would say that's going to be a problem. I don't have a solution right up front, but something needs to be rerouted.

Could you swap the fitting to the other side of the carb, reversing the filter screen inside & the plug on the other side????
