Default Loading an RV-9?

How much stuff can you get in an RV-8? I have never seen the rear baggage area or really the front one closeup. Any body out there with one who can fill me in? I was thinking of trading in my -6 on a -8.

Default Lots!

My wife and I take weekend trips up to 800 miles each way. We each pack a soft sided bag, then she gets a 2nd one filled. Then one small roll-around. It all fits between the front and back baggage compartments.

Last summer I took my -8 from Texas to Wyoming backpacking. I took the back stick out and loaded my 50+ pound backpack in the back seat and strapped it down really good. Did not even use the rear baggage compartment that time.

Where are you located, Jim? Perhaps there is an -8 near you that you could go see.

Default Baggage

I saw a couple at Oshkosh camp for a week with what they had in an RV-8.

My wife and I regularly make week to 10 day trips with what we carry in our -8.

The limit for the forward baggage comp. is 50lbs. For the rear it is 75lbs.

Depending on the empty weight this is doable. I'm not suggesting that you go out of the top of the envelope by going over gross----but a lot of people have declared their gross to be above 1800lbs on the RV-8.

Jim,
Rick Galati in Lake St.Louis has a 6 and is building an 8. He usually has lots of pictures. Here is his member info.
