Default Lycoming 0-320 H2AD fuel pump

I am installing engine in a RV9A but I don't like the position of the fuel pump because any fuel leaks in the pump will be blown on to the cylinders and or exhaust.

Have any other H2AD users come up with a solution and is it possible to drive a pump of the vacuum pump drive?

Helio tried it, although his last post says the pump drive shaft broke. Maybe he could provide some more insight.

After reading his post about the shaft breaking I decided to just go with the AC pump on my H2AD.

Smile H2AD fuel pumps

My H engine in my 6A has performed well. I did run the small drain hose down to the lower rear of the bottom cowl in case the diaphragm had a leak. I fire sleeved all hoses except the drain.

I don't think the 172 used a mech fuel pump. Gravity fed fuel?

Alternatively, you could use 2 electric fuel pumps.

I ran fire sleeved fuel hoses over the top of the crankcase on my "H" engined -6 with AC fuel pump fitted. No problems so far in 200hrs, summer or winter. I did as Vern did and ran the drain pipe down through the forward baffle floor and out of the rear of the cowling away from the exhaust.

I did the same with no problems now for 650 hours.

David,
The advantage of this location is that it will not be subject to heating of the pump. This location [on the upper/forward crankcase] will ensure that the incoming air keeps your fuel pump (and the fuel inside of it) cool. So long as you are diligent in routing an overflow hose from the pump and follow the advice of the other listers, it should work well. The rear mounted fuel pumps need this hose, too. Without it, the rear located pumps drip fuel [after a diaphragm failure] onto the exhaust.
The accessory cover mounted fuel pumps tend to get hot. Most certified aircraft install a shroud and blast tube in an attempt to keep them cool.

yes, I have it and I am flying for about 10 hours.
however all my flight could be more relaxed.
I can't take my eyes off the fuel pressure gauge without look at a safe place to emergency landing (lol).
to be honest, if I had a new fuel pump, It would be better.

so, I would like to buy the correct camshaft for my H2AD, and I?m not sure which is the correct part number.
Anyone could help me?
Where can I find it? new or used in good conditions?

Thank you in advance.

Helio, the cam will depend on whether or not your engine has the t-mod. The t-mod engines have larger diameter lifters and larger cam lobes.

If your serial number has a "T" at the end it is a t-mod engine. If it isn't a t-mod engine you may be able to get a roller cam kit for it.

It looks like there's an older non t-mod cam on ebay right now (not mine).

My engine has the t-mod, and my cam's yellow tag shows the PN is LW-16510R.

Great Andy !!!!!!!!
You were perfect. Thank you very much
my O320-H2AD has this serial: L-8296-76T
I understood this "76T" means I have a T-mod engine, right?
Maybe I dont have the correct PART CATALOG as well, because
I cant find this PN (LW-16510R) there.
I have this part catalog revision PC-122-1 publication O-320-H 76 series.

Do you use a different one?
I am a little confuse man, and I am afraid to buy a wrong camshaft or a like I have.

Thanks again for help me.
Helio
