Default Panel upgrade question

WE are just finishing an RV6A with a basic VFR panel. We would like to add a VOR/LOC/GS if possible. We are very space limited. We're wondering where we could put it ? Also, do these units require a remote receiver or are they integral units? Is the DG the most logical instrument to replace?

Default HSI

Drop an HSI or Electronic HSI where your DG is and you've got it. Plenty out there to choose from. You would need to swap your radio for an sl-30 or similar first though.
