Default Rivet Failure Reference Please

Does anyone have a serious reference work describing/explaining a rivet failure like the one pictured? PM or email please.

Red face Thing that make you go Hmmmmm...

Nice camera!

How many of those did you find?

It looks to me like the material had age hardened before the heads were formed.

Do you know where they came from?

Part#
Manufacturer?
Lot#

That is what we would always want to know.
In 25 years we have only had to recall one batch of solid rivets. That was at the request of the manufacturer. I do not know if Vans keeps that kind of traceability.

Too bad its a 3/32, all the rest have at least a manufacturers mark.

Best wishes, keep us posted.

Dan, obviously you are researching this, what have you found so far? How many of these have you found? Is this on your plane?
