Kit Lead Times have Increased

FYI - got a letter today from Van's informing me that my wing kit, which was supposed to ship next week, is now delayed by up to 6-8 weeks.

I went over Van's kit lead time web page and sure enough it looks like everything has slipped to the right.

I'm surprised that the RV-6 fuselage kit is still listed as only 8 weeks. With the batch processing, I would expect this to be longer. Good for me...

I guess biz is good for vans right now....also, they had tons of tail kit orders from OSH...So I bet they are getting more than usual wing orders at the same time frames too...

Yep, basically the letter states that business is great, there's been a signifcant increase in the number orders driving their inventory down. I'm disappointed but not upset in the least.

Yeah most of the -10 kits have longer lead times now.

Shipping more parts to the QB factory to get that backlog down is catching up with general parts availability.

True. the lead times are pretty impressive.
It took me five months to get my RV 9A quick build wings and fuse.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that when they did arrive, the workmanship was superlative.
It was worth the wait.
