Default angle oil filter adapter

Is the angle oil filter adapter and/or spacers needed? a nice addition? or a place to spend more money? Just trying to decide if I need to get a 3/4" or 2" or 90* adapter.

Here's my combo: RV-7, IO-360 parallel valve, C/S, james cowl and plenum

I don't have any spacers on mine.. Some (RV-8s, IIRC) need it in order to clear the engine mount...

RV-T doesn't need a spacer if using the ECI angled adapter.
Good Luck,

Default I disliked the angled adaptor

In fact I changed it for the straight back style as I can prevent that from dumping oil everywhere..The angled adaptor always dumped oil when I removed the filter.

Frank,

IIRC, there is a drain plug on the angle adapter to let the oil out.

The other trick I do is put a plastic trash bag around the the adapter and filter to catch the oil.
