Default Tip-up canopy....

One of the common arguments I've heard in favor of the sliding canopy is that is what "real" fighters use, from WWII to modern jets such as the F-16 etc.

That argument isn't as valid as it was before - look at what the production F-35 uses :

I am sure that for 50 million dollars they chose the best option for the canopy.

Default Yeah, and it can also blow..

...if the driver needs to eject. We don't have that option.
