Default Fuel Flow Transducer Problem

...has surfaced over time. This is on an IO-360 with GRT/EIS400 sytem. First it would occasionally read zero on startup but then kick in upon taxi. Now as an extreme case it will read from zero to 30 gph, back and forth. Has anyone experienced this kind of wild fluctuation and what was the resolution, Transducer, wiring, EIS? I first suspected the T-ducer but can't imagine what would cause it to read 30+GPH...

No, have not called GRT yet, but emailed them when first read zero, no response.

Ideas?

Jerry

I have not had any problems with my EIS-4000 or fuel transducer. One thing to check that comes to mind is the transducer is supposed to get its power from the regulated 12V line from the EIS, not the ship's power. If you have it wired to the ship's 12V the voltage fluctuations may be causing problems.

Wild swings of readings sound like a lose wire or connector.

A few times they (GRT) have been slow to respond by email they always answer the phone and have been very helpful every time I've called them.
