Default Tip: Making quick backup of electrical diagrams, etc

After misplacing (duh!) the only copy of my (complex) 430W and transponder electrical diagrams, I decided I needed a backup (and working copy). I was going to scan them but got lazy and found a quicker, easier way.

I simply laid the sheets out flat and took pictures with my digital camera. This also solved the problem of how do I scan the couple of pages that were larger than 8 1/2 x 11".

It works fine and now I can file the original where I won't lose it.

Harold,

That is a great idea. I also used my digital camera to take pictures of all the name plate data on the engine, avionics, radios, antenna, etc.. You can write down the serial numbers but it never fails you need some addditional info like Rev Level or somthing else you thought was insignificant.
