Default Fuel selector illumination

Here's something I've never seen done in an RV before:

It's not actually as blindingly bright as the camera makes it look... in person it just casts a nice soft glow on the fuel selector when the panel lights are turned on.

Yes, I realize my airplane would probably be finished if not for little projects like this. It's fun, though!

Default great job Matt!

Matt - thanks for posting this, I am SO going to copy it. Where did you get the LED-sized tube?

It's actually two pieces of tube, which came from the "craft metals" display at the local hardware store. Pretty much any hobby store or hardware store should have a K&S Metals display. It's all stuck together with JB Weld... simple and cheap!

Wow, that's really neat -- great thinking outside the box!

For what it's worth, I'm using one of these LED light strips and I have found that during night flight it lights up the fuel selector. I have it on a dimmer and if I turn it all the way up, it will light up the entire cockpit!
