I've never been bothered too much by the kit shipping costs and the few small parts I've messed up have been replaced via UPS/FEDEX/USPS at reasonable rates. So I just messed up the forward spar of my -10 HS and ordered a replacement last week. Parts and Crating were about $60, no alarm there. It just arrived (BAX Global) to the tune of nearly $190!!

Now I'm going to be exceedingly nervous anytime I work on the larger parts. Heck, the shipping for the whole tail kit was only about twice that; I'm guessing they charged me for the two HS spars and shipped the rest free! Just wanted to warn others if you didn't know; get a shipping quote. Van's doesn't automatically provide one unless you ask.
Also, does anyone know if Partain's offers a rate for smaller stuff like that? I could have waited a while for a shipment to come my way if it meant saving some money...
