Based on the age, I'm guessing here...

Lycoming O-145 of 65 hp?

Scratch that, the O-145 had the lifter tubes on the bottom of the cylinders.

I could be an O-235 or O-290. The O-235 was first introduced in 1940 and the O-290 around 1942.
