Default Positive Terminal

Here is what I want to be able to do: By simply opening the oil access door on the upper cowl, I want to be able to easily reach inside and access a positive battery terminal remotely MOUNTED TO THE FIREWALL. Where can I get such a piece of hardware? Naturally, electrical isolation is a paramount concern even when accessed by a klutzy ham-handed user. Links? Anybody care to share a picture of a similiar installation?

Default Boat shop

Hi Rick,

My neighbor is building a 7 and used a terminal from a boat shop. It is perfect for our needs as well. It is insulated, water proof and quick to install.

If he has his cowl off today, I'll get a picture.

What are you going to use the terminal for??

If all you want is a place to hook up a battery charger, then you might consider hooking up a polarized pigtail like comes with a "Battery Minder" ---- it just stays in the plane, and no exposed bare contact to make sparks at inconvenient times
