Default Question about oil tube pick up/cover plate

I started converting my vertical induction to a horizontal cold air induction last night. As always I ran into trouble. The oil pick up tube is too long and will not allow the new sump to sit flush. It will not work at all. After further investigation it looks like I can take the oil pick up tube off, remove the Allen screw and covering the hole were the oil pick up tube was. Does Lycoming make a cover plate for this location? My 0-320 manual only shows the oil pick up tube and nothing else. I think the IO-360 manual may have a part number (but I don?t have one). Thanks for any help or guidance you can provide.

The information that I post is just that; information and my own personal experiences. You need to weight out the pros and cons and make up your own mind/decisions. The pictures posted may not show the final stage or configuration. Build at your own risk.
