Default Shim between hinge and firewall flange

I am installing the hinge for the new pink cowl and the plans call for .032 shim on top and .020 on sides and bottom between the hinge and firewall flange. I have a 12" segment clecoed an the right top of the firewall with .020 shim and it appears to more than enough. What has worked for others?

Default use what works

use whatever shim thickness works for you. Just make sure that your parts are being pulled tightly together by the clecos. Sometimes around the curves the parts are not tight, then, when you rivet, it will be pulled tighter and the positioning changes slightly.
