oil filter drip capture via "slime fighter"

I've seen some posts on using various scoops and troughs to capture or channel oil away when removing the horizontal oil filter on a lycoming, has anyone tried one of these? Sounds like it bolts directly to the engine somehow? Spruce and other sell the same thing.

Just changed my oil last night, the 27th time on the RV to be exact. I have a tray that I stick in under the filter from the side, and all it is is a piece of 2024-T3 sheet 18" or so long by 2" wide, with a crease in the center. Other end drips over the bucket underneath. Crack the filter open and walk away for an hour. Total cost: $0.00, considering the piece was scrap. Not a drop anywhere.

I have a tray like Rocketbob's and I punch a hole in the top of the filter at
the rear area (side) then rotate filter one half turn and let drain while I drop the oil from the sump. A rag under the filter catches the few drops that are left when removing the filter.

RV-4 flying 2 yrs.

Well, it's low tech but plastic food saver bags work very well.
