Default trimming rudder tip

I want to attach my fiberglass tip, at least temporarily, to my rudder. However I cannot attach the VS and rudder to the plane while the plane is in the shop (that will ahve to wait till assembly in the hangar). So some tweaking later may be necessary.
The FG rudder tip supplied by Vans has a score line for trimming. This score line runs 5/8" along the length of the tip at the top, and then has teh shape to fit around the rudder horn. This seems like a lot of height to be chopping off the tip. Question... shoudl I go ahead and cut along the score line marked by Vans' including the 5/8" off the top along the entire length, or just do the cutout for the rudder horn now and do the height adjustment later? Have others found vans' score line for trimming this to be accurate?

You will be best off to wait until you can mount the VS and Rudder to the fuselage to line it up correctly. Those scribe lines are notoriously inaccurate.
