Default Required charts for VFR

I hate to ask this as it may open a can of worms but...

91.503 (a) states... The pilot in command of an airplane shall ensure that the following flying equipment and aeronautical charts and data, in current and appropriate form, are accessible for each flight at the pilot station of the airplane:

Do up-to-date GPS databases qualify for VFR not-on-top pertinent charts?

Hand flying a -4 and messing with a VFR sectional is just a waste of time.

When looking at regs always check their applicability. This particular one does not apply to you flying an RV. See 91-501 for applicability of this particular reg.

Perfect. I thought it did not apply but I have been wrong before. Thank you.
