Default Blind Rivet Identification

I believe the rivet on the left is an LP4-3 but what is the other one? I put all of the rivets from the bags marked with "LP4-3" on them into one drawer. Today I opened the drawer and found two different types (I think).

Could they both be LP4-3's but just slightly different markings. I don't have but a few of the ones shown on the right. Any ideas?

Default Rivets

I believe it's an AD 41 something, it's a flush rivet.

no, i don't think that is right the ad 41 abs is much shorter in body size than the LP4-3 he has for comparison. I'd guess it was a msp - 32 but the manufactured head is more oval, than the msp 32.

how many of them do you have? that should tell us something. you don't know what bag it was in, do you?

edit- i'll guess it is an ad 42 ABS (don't know if there is such a thing) that got mixed up accidentally. save them for a practice kit.

Default Section 5 of the builders manual

Ok, I built a 7, but if the manuals are the similar, page 5-16 has a full size pulled rivet comparison. Lay your actual rivet on top of those drawings on the page until you find the one that matches. It looks an awful lot like an AD-42H but check the drawing to be sure.

Default Mixed Rivets

One of the bags in the 9 fuse kit has 3 different rivet types in it. It had around 125 LP4-3's and 2 other types. It was a pain to sort them out. I will look tomorrow and see what the other 2 types were. I do remember there were 4 counter sunk rivets and about 15 of the ones you show in your picture all mixed in with the LP4-3's.

Default Rivets

Ok, bag 1963-2 had 148 LP4-3's, 28 MSP-42's and 4 CS4-4's.
The one in the picture on the right is the MSP-42.

Thanks guys. I only have 18 of the MSP-42's. I don't remember what the bag number was. I have tried my best to keep the rivets separate by type and identifying number. For example, all of the blind rivets are in one section of my sliding tray cub-bard. Each blind rivet type (or solid rivet for that matter) got its own individual tray even if there were only two.

Thanks again - they'll get their own tray now!
