The figure of 7-9 hours seems right, less if you're a quick learner.
As for the number of landings .... are you counting only 1 landing per approach? No, I'm not talking about bounced landings

, but when I got some tailwheel time, we would make an approach, make one landing, advance the throttle, get about 50 feet up, flare and land again, and repeat that as many times as we could. It really helped with learning the 3-point attitude and where to flare.
Another great exercise is to get in a fast taxi with the tail up, then have the instructor stomp one of the rudders and have you correct. You learn fast that way
