Dauphin Island trip (June 2009)

Mark, Thanks for the post....interesting. We will be flying in to Dauphin Island on July 11th. We, two couples rented a house for a week. This will be our first trip there. I have flown over the island a few times in route to beach houses in Florida. We are looking forward to it.

Thanks for the trip report, Mark. Mary and I drove to Dauphin Island a few years ago when we were scouting for retirement locations. We were intrigued with the place and actually have a relative who was born and raised there. We will put this on our list of trips to take. I sure agree with you about dreaming about this kind of adventure back when we were pounding rivets.
