i have found great road detail on marine setting. whats up with that? is my unit messed up? both pics were taken same place and zoom. one marine other automobile. the top pic is marine setting. i am unable to get detail on automobile page.

Marine setting mostly changes how the navigation functions work. For instance, lock to roads will be turned off in marine mode and on in automobile road. In your photos, it also looks like in marine setting, only the base map is active, not the detail map. You can actually change active maps by going into the menu on the main screen.
