Default fuel flow sensor

Getting ready to work on some firewall forward sensors and found that according to the posts here on VAF that I now have to decide how and where to install the fuel flow sensor. (between the 2 fuel pumps or after the fuel pumps) Can I leave it complete off for now and decide later if I actually need to monitor my fuel flow?

Mine is in the cabin after the boost pump before it gets to the firewall.

Quite frankly, it doesn't really matter where you put it. They have a calibration value when you put them in. If it doesn't match usage when you fill the plane, you adjust the monitor value until it matches. Last fill, the EMS showed 24.2 gallons used, the actual fill was 24.25 gallons.

Also, there are some good earlier posts on where to mount.
