Default How to know if my engines has rocker Valve or Not???

Hi All,

At sun and fun I was talking with a guy from lycoming and he told me that maybe my engine has rocker valve (because purchase date), he told me to check serial number last letter but I forgot wish one said that the engine has rocker valve, anyone knows how to decode lycoming serial number.

My engine is L-34371-51E

Thanks,

...Tappets" the answer appears to be YES.

From Lycoming...

How do I know an engine has roller tappets?

Roller tappet-equipped engines are identified with an ?E? suffix after the s/n dash number (Example ? L-******-48E).
