296 to 3 or 496 upgrade

I have a 296 and I would like to upgrade to a 396 or 496 to get WX. My 296 is wired to my GRT Sport and Ez Pilot AP. Will I need to change the wiring or will the 296 cable need to be changed to accomodate the 3 or 496. I know I can look this stuff up but I was wondering if anyone elese has done this and can shed some light.

Hi Jeff,

The 2/3/496 cables are all the same so it should be plug/play for you if you already have it wired up. You may need to change the baud rates in the GRT or Trio depending on what you have the 296 set at, but other than that it should be easy!
