Default land trip planning-gps-google map

So lets say you want to fly somewhere and have a land route planned for your rentarig using your 496 in auto mode........

Anyone have a straightforward way to plan the land element in google maps--while wasting time at the office---and somehow getting that into your gps as a route?

I have done such in map source and have to believe there is an easier way.....
