defective kelly starter?

I just got my Kelly e-drive starter from ACS. I'm trying to figure out if the rear of the starter is twisted, or if it's supposed to be this way.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture. It looks like i could loosen a couple screws and turn it straight, but I know some motors shouldn't be disassembled (steppers for instance) and I'm not sure if that's the case here.

Does anyone else own one of these? Does yours look like this?
