Default 4270,4271 mags

I've got a 4270 and a 4271 set of Slicks. Can anyone tell me if they are still good to return for cores?

I've called a few places and can't get a straight answer.

Default According to ACS

The 4000/4100 series and 600 series may not be used for core credit.

Only the 4000/4100 series are the throw-away.
