Default On Island Time 'Mon'....

I'm sitting here relaxing on our 3rd full day (Monday 27 April) on the island visiting with Jimmyb and Gene, and I finally found a few minutes to post some pictures. Here's us right before departing Homestead, reaching Havana airspace, leaving Cuba, relaxing, and diving (from today);

Paul & Victoria, Gene & Janet, Jimmyb & Vicki, Chris & Indira, Bill & Sharon, Lesli & Mercedes:

Sorry to hear Scott had to cancel out.
We had an opportunity to chat in Brooksville the Saturday before SNF.

Be sure to include me your plans next year.
I heard some chatter about a possible Alaska trip.

Default Half way through our 10 days on the Island

Tuesday evening marked the half-way point of our time on the island, and we've all been having a GREAT time here Wednesday morning will see the Kleens and Mercedes flying back to Key West (and onto Washington and California respectively). After they leave, I have two of my friends from California flying in commercial to spend the last 5 days here with us on the island. Here are some more pics of how we are spending our time on Little Cayman;

Default Say Hello to the Kleens for me!

Rosie,

I have been enjoying your journal thus far, and want to wish the Kleens safe journey tomorrow as they depart. Tell Chris that I am the one who would show up at Torrence every so often on the worn out lookin' bike from the Best Western Redondo usually to see what Bill Marvel was up to but to check on him as well.

Again, one of these days, hopefully I can join you all on your oddessy to the Caribbean.

Be safe and have fun down there!

Default Seven Days gone by...

WowEE!!! Friday May 1st marks a week since we arrived on the island (our arrival picture to Cayman Brac is the first one below). The last time we did a Friday-Friday trip to the Caribbean, it seemed like we just got here when it was time to leave so...... that's why we went from Friday-Friday PLUS the weekend

We still have 3 FULL DAYS on the island left and plan to make the best of them. We'll dive early Friday/Saturday, and on Sunday: Bill & Sharon Souza and Gene & Janet Larsen plan to join Tuppergal and I as a 3-ship to Grand Cayman (about 30 minutes) to enjoy our last day on the islands. We'll all be flying to Key West on Monday Morning, May 4th.

Here are some more pictures on how we spend our "island time"

Default More pictures from the Cayman Islands

...More pictures on how we spend our "island time".

Jim Pappas (left with wife Cathy) and Bill Souza share the same birthday (April 29th) so the cooks made a special birthday cake for them. Victoria, Irene and Carol went on a resort dive (first came the pool work) and Bill Souza flew me over to Cayman Brac to pic up my mid-week arrivals Dave Huhman & Barbara Summery. Check out the 'alert' we got over the 'terrain'

And here's our group-

Upper left: Lesli Monforton & Mercedes Eulitt

Upper right: Indira & Chris Kleen

Front row: Janet Larsen, Paul & Victoria Rosales, Irene Van Ousterhout Sharon & Bill Souza, Dave Huhman

Middle row: Gene Larsen, Barbara Summey, Carol Hylton, Dean Van Ousterhout, Jim Pappas, Christine Johnston, Laird Owens, Sid Baldwin

Back row: Jim & Vicki Baker, Shelly Baldwin

Tree people: Annmarie Strachan & Cathy Pappas

Default Spending the day in Grand Cayman Sunday

We have a 3-ship (Rosales-Souza/Pappas-Larsen) departing Little Cayman at 0930 EDT on Sunday, and you can track us here. I'll be sure to send an "OK" message on Grand Cayman as I've found sometimes the SPOT tracker misses a beat every now and then Rosie
