Default RE: Move to the airport

I am ready to move the RV7A to the airport. . I have been able to make a deal with an auto dealship in town to use there auto haul trailor to move the plane........I have not seen it yet but would assumn it is one that has the deck that moves to the ground and you just pull the plane up on the deck.

For those that have used this method any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have read the threads in the historical register of the VAF archives on this subject but I am looking for any hints that you found would make this easier!!!!

The plane is named after my Dad and his life long nickname BUZZ with the N number of N74BZ. I guess from this point on I will refer to it as BUZZ!!!!

Frank @ 1L8 ...RV7A... get ready to move to the airport!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moved this RV4 project about 10 miles on a tilt-bed car trailer. We just nailed
down some 2x6 for chocks and strapped it down at the gear and tailwheel. After 1 mile of pothole dirt road, we also jammed a rolled up sleeping bag under the tail spring to dampen the bounce.

We also taped the control surfaces to keep them from flopping around. Wings in their stands and roped in place.

good luck with the move and reassembly
