Default Vent Window

Has anyone been brave enough put a vent window in their canopy?

Default I cracked my first canopy...

...and one thought I had was to install a plastic vent in this area to hide the screw up. I had previously seen an RV-6 tip-up with a vent and when I went back to look at it, close inspection revealed that this ac also had cracked the canopy (same spot as mine). The vent really did mask the crack.

Bottom line...my canopy crack grew to about 18 inches when I tried to stop drill it...the initial crack was about 2 inches long, 6 inches when I tried to stop drill, and the remainder shortly thereafter when my fist tried to go through the plexi...

Canopy #2 is fine and has no vent.
