how to read An code for screws! Help!

I've surfed for hours and only found stuff about BOLTS! everywhere.

what the **** is AN515-8R8..... need to re-do my fuel tank sender unit with hex head screws..... when I want to go to the screw store.

Is it just a #8 -32............but how long?

BY the way, is it worth using stainless????

The info is probably here, GAHCO, look at the menu on the left side, click screws, then structural etc.

Here is a direct link to what I think you need, however if it isnt the correct page, keep digging around in GAHCO, there is a ton of good info there.

The first 8 denotes 8-32 thread form
The R is for recessed (phillips head)
The second 8 is the length in 16th's of and inch (1/2")

For what it's worth, AN515 has been discontinued and replaced by a number of MS specs: MS35206, MS35214, MS51957
