Default RV-6 Transport

See the attached link with pictures of how we transported a RV-6 from St Augustine FL to Fayetteville GA. Two of us loaded and unloaded the aircraft using a cable hoist. It took about 10 hours to build the fixtures and 4.5 hours to load the aircraft including wrapping control surfaces and loading them in the van. The trailer is 16' x 6'. We transported it 385 miles at speeds of 65 mph with no problems. ( fyi: the HS is 106" wide, legal DOT limit is 102" )

Default Great idea for transport!

How did you cushion the wings? Thanks for sharing these.

Default

The outboard wing sections were in a sling made of a strip of heavy carpet 12" wide that was secured at the top of the fixture.
