Kevin's pressure vs. temperature curve dates back nearly 75 years and was the result of a top secret study carried out by the National Hockey League. Their findings remained secret for many decades and allowed the Canadians to dominate ice hockey until the code was finally cracked by the Russians in the 1970s. Today, the U.S. continues to conduct tests with overweight figure skaters in an attempt to garner a strategic advantage in that sport.

Ha, Ha, I used to live up in MN and travel to Canada. Those people sure looked silly alll bundled up on that frozen river. Then I looked outside my window down here in warm, central Georgia:

Default Feb 27, 2010 Ottawa, Canada - Mo's Ottawa river Fly-in

I just posted the Mo's Ottawa river Fly-in on VAF calendar. Looking forward to another successful river landing, and just posting to remind people who need some planning time to attend.

Mo's 21st Ottawa River Fly-in, 5km N/W of Aylmer, QC.
10:00 am
Quebec side of river, 1 nm west of Ottawa VOR
45 26 57 N 75 55 48 W
Frequency; 123.2

Ottawa river ice landing. Landing on skis is recommended. A runwway may be plowed for wheeled skis. Landing is at your own risk. For more information contact Maurice Prud'Homme tel: 819 682-5273 or cel: 819 360-0706.

Hoping for good weather to participate again this year. We've attended last year for the first time, and it was a blast, a cold one at that . About 70 planes showed up. Maurice serves some of the best hot chili around, which helps warm up your insides on a cold day. (see first page of this thread for some photos of the last year's event). See you there.
