Navimatics Releases ?Aero Charts? for the iPhone

Kirkland, WA / Jan 27, 2009. Navimatics Corporation released yesterday ?Aero Charts?,
the first true aeronautical charts software product for the iPhone and iPod touch. The
product features combined VFR+IFR charts and Direct‐to navigation and is intended to
be used as a flight planning tool and/or a backup device.
?Aero Charts? incorporates a continuous and seamless vector chart that can be moved,
zoomed or rotated freely with simple finger gestures. The information on the chart is
derived from official FAA and other government data and includes Class B, C, D, E and
Special Use Airspace, Airways, Fixes, Holding Patterns, Navaids and Airports as well as
hypsography and important land features. Information of interest to both VFR and IFR
pilots is included.

The product uses the device?s built‐in GPS (only available in the iPhone) to provide
location, speed and track information. The product supports Direct‐to navigation and
can navigate towards Airports, Navaids, Fixes or user‐defined Waypoints.
Features that will be coming in the next releases include weather, NOTAM?s and TFR?s
and full flight‐plan (multiple legs) navigation.

?Aero Charts? retails for $49.99 and is available from the iTunes AppStore.
