Lycoming document SSP-108 (December 2008) says an IO-360-M1B has 8.50:1 compression.

Default Compression Ratios

All Lycoming parallel head engines, including the M1B are 8.5:1 compression, while the angle head engines are 8.7:1 in stock configuration.
