Default Composite Prop Recommendations

Hey Folks:
I'm looking for recommendations for a fixed pitch composite prop to put on an RV-8 that is hardy enough to fly through rain with out worrying.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bill Judge

Default Catto with PropGuard

Hi Bill,

Not sure if a wooden core covered in fiberglass meets your definition of 'composite prop', but this is part of an email exchange I had with Craig Catto back in April 2007:

Quote:
The only real option is pretty much any color you want, and the application of PropGuard Tape. This tape will allow you to run full throttle through rain. Without the tape you need to pull back to 2300 or so without any erosion.
If you do a search on 'Catto', you'll see that it has a very good reputation here at VAF. Also, Craig recently expanded his manufacturing facility so I would expect his lead times to be reduced. Contact Craig to make sure, though: http://www.cattoprops.com

Regards,

The information that I post is just that; information and my own personal experiences. You need to weight out the pros and cons and make up your own mind/decisions. The pictures posted may not show the final stage or configuration. Build at your own risk.

Try MT? They do a very nice line of FP props with Stainless Steel or Nickel leading edges. Pete
