Default cowl-starter ring alignment

Can anyone tell me how far (fwd) to cut the cowl inlet flange. Should it be forward of the starter ring or does it matter? I was tentatively going to trim the cowl approximately where the blue line is, but perhaps I should just leave it? I assume the front baffle bulkheads will almost butt up to the aft edge of the cowl flange here, but does it matter what is adjacent to the starter ring, cowl or baffle? (I currently have about 1/2" between cowl and starter ring.)

Thanks.

You should not have to cut anything off the cowl inlets they will work great as is,Bob.

Default Bob's correct......

.....but you'll need to trim the lower baffle inlet to about 3/8"-1/2" back of the fiberglass intake......that's so you can fold the rubber up as you raise the cowl to install/remove it.

Regards,
