Default Link 496

Can you link a 496 and a 695 together so that what you enter in one will go to the other?

In order to do this, one portable would have to be set for Aviation Data IN and the other set to Aviation Data OUT. I haven't looked at the manual for the 696 but all previous version of Garmin portables only had a setting for Aviation IN / NO Out. If this trend continues with the 696, then the answer is NO.
