Default Andair Selector knob - How to take it off?

Hi.. I've got the Andair FS20-7 supplied by Van's, and I'm stuck on how to remove the red selector knob. http://andair.co.uk/pix/x7-2.jpg

The screw sitting under the lock release knob is the problem. I can use the short hex wrench to loosen it, but the knob stops it from coming free. There's also a cover on the lock knob preventing me from getting at the circlip, so I'm not sure if i'm supposed to remove that or not. Does it matter which position the knob is in when I try to take it off?

I'm being extra careful about this because it's such a nice piece of work (and essential to safety) that I don't want to damage it by scratching it, or put force on it where it shouldn't go.

thanks,
-John

Default Andair

Pull up on the Red handle and then unscrew the handle .

That worked. Thanks!

That's a cool design.. minimizes the chances of losing the screw.

I don't think the pull up has anything to do with the screw. Just removed mine for the first time last week. It's to stop accidental movement of the selector valve. You have to lift the knob before turning the selector. But I know you knew this.
